Solvency UK data platform · Powered by Solvency II Wire Data
SFCRs and QRT filings of UK insurers. Every year. Structured, validated, and ready for immediate analysis — solo and group, life and non-life.
About the regime
UK insurers have been required to publish detailed solvency disclosures since 2016 — initially under the EU's Solvency II framework, alongside their European counterparts. Solvency II Wire Data has collected and structured that UK data from the very first filings.
Following the UK's departure from the EU, the PRA developed Solvency UK — a reformed regime that entered into force in 2023. It introduced material changes to the economic balance sheet, reporting templates, and key regulatory measures, diverging from the EU framework in important respects.
Our database covers the complete 10-year history: the Solvency II period (2016–2022) and the Solvency UK period (2023 onwards) in a single, consistent structure — so you can analyse the UK market across the full regulatory arc.
Template prefix change: Solvency II templates (S.xx) become Solvency UK Insurance Reporting templates (IR.xx).
Example: S.02.01.02 (Balance Sheet) → IR.02.01.02 → IR.02.01.02 in the database
New cost-of-capital rate and projection methodology. Estimated ~65% reduction for life firms relative to Solvency II. Produces a step-increase in own funds visible at the 2023→2024 boundary.
Expanded asset eligibility including assets with highly predictable cash flows. New PRA-published Fundamental Spread replaces own-calculated credit risk allowance. New SFCR attestation requirements.
UK-specific VA diverging from EIOPA's EU calibration. Affects S.22.01 sensitivity disclosures and the reported impact of LTG measures.
Balance sheet liabilities redesigned. Premium templates split by life/non-life. SCR templates consolidated into a single IR.25.04. Lines of business reclassified across multiple templates.
Database coverage
The Solvency UK dataset covers the full scope of mandatory public disclosures — balance sheet, own funds, SCR, technical provisions, premiums, and more — in a single flat-table export ready for analysis.
Solo and group undertaking details, LEI, jurisdiction, entity type, and capital model used.
Full Solvency II economic balance sheet — assets, technical provisions, own funds. Liability side substantially redesigned versus Solvency II.
Split into separate life and non-life templates under Solvency UK, with revised LOB structures in both.
Best estimate and risk margin by product line. Material changes for firms with Matching Adjustment portfolios.
TP by line of business — note LOB reclassification creates structural breaks versus pre-2024 data.
Claims triangles for non-life and health. LOB reclassification may break historical continuity.
Sensitivity disclosures showing the impact of removing VA, MA, and transitionals — UK-recalibrated.
Eligible own funds by tier at SCR and MCR level, including LTG measure impacts.
Solvency UK consolidates the SII S.25.01/02/03 templates into a single IR.25.04, with additional sub-risk "Other" rows.
Minimum Capital Requirement calculations. Moderate impact from RM-driven TP and premium changes.
Subsidiary-level group structure data — one row per subsidiary per group per year. Ownership percentages, LEIs, entity types.
Extracted from SFCR narratives: LTG sensitivity scenarios and SCR module-level breakdowns where disclosed.

Analytical guidance
Solvency II Wire Data maintains a parallel Solvency UK dataset (SUK) and Solvency II dataset (SII) with consistent structure. This table summarises the key analytical breaks at the 2023→2024 boundary.
| Template / Area | Change type | Analytical impact |
|---|---|---|
| Balance Sheet — Assets IR.02.01.02 |
Minor | RI recoverables consolidated from 7 to 3 rows. Asset totals remain cross-year comparable; RI sub-category breakdown does not. |
| Balance Sheet — Liabilities IR.02.01.02 |
Major | Complete liability redesign. Product-type TP breakdown (rows R0520–R0720) eliminated. Cross-regime TP comparison by product type not directly possible. |
| Premiums, Claims & Expenses IR.05.03.02 / IR.05.04.02 |
Major | Single SII template split into two SUK templates. Life and non-life LOBs restructured. Cross-year LOB comparisons require confirmation that specific LOB is unchanged. |
| Life Technical Provisions IR.12.01.02 |
Major | MA reform changes TP for MA portfolios. Firms entering or restructuring MA in 2024 show structural discontinuities. |
| LTG Measures IR.22.01.01 |
Major | New MA framework introduces new attestation and reporting requirements. Sensitivity disclosures recalibrated versus SII. |
| Own Funds IR.23.01 |
Moderate | RM recalibration increases eligible own funds. Step-up in Tier 1 capital at 2023→2024 boundary for life firms with significant RM. |
| SCR IR.25.04 |
Moderate | Multiple SII templates consolidated into single IR.25.04. New "Other" sub-risk rows added. SCR coverage ratio improvements at 2023→2024 partly structural. |
| Non-Life TPs & Claims IR.17 / IR.19 |
Moderate | LOB reclassification creates breaks in TP and claims development triangles consistent with S.05 changes. |
